ZEYDAN KARALAR ERA HAS STARTED IN ADANA TOURISM UNION

After the Local Government elections on March 31, 2024, the first council meeting of the Adana Tourism Development and Infrastructure Service Union (ATGAB) was held on 10.06.2024 at the Adana Metropolitan Municipality Council Hall, with the participation of the Union Council members.

At the session, Adana Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Zeydan KARALAR was elected as Adana Tourism Union President.

ATGAB President KARALAR stated that Adana is one of the rare cities in the world that combines 6-7 features in terms of tourism and continued his words with the following expressions;

“The number of tourists in the world will increase to around 1 billion 800 million by 2030. As it is said, if every tourist left a thousand liras, the value of the total tourism pie in the world would be 1.8 trillion dollars. It is a negative situation that Turkey does not attach importance to such a great economic value and does not benefit from it sufficiently. I hope it won’t be like this from now on.

I don’t know if there is a more suitable city for rural tourism than Adana. It has one of the three most important plains in the world. They ask me, “Is there a sea in Adana?” Adana has long beaches. There is very healthy sand on these beaches. These are the beaches that Northern Europe is extremely interested in.

After the Black Sea and Marmara fish, the most delicious fish in the world come from the Mediterranean, on which we are located. We are rich in gastronomy. When you think of Adana, kebab comes to mind, but we have nearly 600 extraordinary flavors. We have the Orange Blossom Carnival. It makes a significant contribution to the promotion of Adana in Turkey and the world. We have the Taste Festival, Turnip and Kebab Festival.

In addition to these, there is also a date. It has a rich history of 8-10 thousand years. “We will continue to work devotedly with our union members to ensure that a city with so many features becomes a brand in tourism and gets the share it deserves from tourism.”

Thanking the ATGAB council members for their kindness, Zeydan KARALAR completed his speech by wishing that the new era would be beneficial for our Adana.

“Karataş Ethnotourism Rural Accommodation Center Investment and Operation Feasibility”, supported within the scope of the 2023 Feasibility Support program carried out by Çukurova Development Agency under the coordination of the General Directorate of Development Agencies of the Ministry of Industry and Technology and carried out in partnership with Adana Tourism Development and Infrastructure Service Association (ATGAB), Karataş Municipality and YAP Association. Within the scope of the project named “(KARATAŞ ETNOBA)”, the necessary research and analyzes have been completed.

ATGAB Union President Necip Topuz told the press; “Within the scope of feasibility studies, economic, technical, financial, social and environmental analyzes were carried out in the light of field studies and concrete data, taking into account the needs and problems of the region. Investment and business evaluations were made taking into account the priorities, targets, strategies and measures in regional and national plans and programs.

When the analysis results regarding the feasibility of the project are evaluated, the outputs obtained show that the project is commercially and economically feasible.

I would like to thank everyone who provided support for the preparation of the feasibility study and wish our Karataş Ethnoba project to be beneficial for both our Karataş and Adana.

Finally, I call on all investors in the sector to evaluate the project.” said.

Within the scope of Çukurova Development Agency (ÇKA) 2023 Feasibility Support Program; The project application named “Karataş Ethnotourism Rural Accommodation Center Investment and Operation Feasibility”, prepared under the leadership of Adana Tourism Development and Infrastructure Service Association (ATGAB) and in partnership with Karataş Municipality and Innovative Breakthrough Projects (YAP) Association, was found worthy of support.

The support contract for the project was signed between ÇKA Secretary General Ahmet Rıfat Duran and ATGAB Union President and Karataş Mayor Necip Topuz. Sharing his opinions about the project, Adana Tourism Development and Infrastructure Service Association (ATGAB) President and Karataş Mayor Necip Topuz said:
“Karataş Ethnoba project, in short, is about carrying out the feasibility study required for the establishment and operation of an ethnotourism center with components that will reflect the cultural values of ancient Turkish traditions and customs to daily life in a suitable area to be determined within the borders of Kumluk nature park in Karataş District. Our project aims to develop the tourism potential of the Karataş destination through ethnotourism that combines cultural and environmental values and to increase the income of the region from tourism.

The facility planned to be established with the Karataş Etnoba project and where nature-friendly materials will be preferred; It consists of rich components such as single and double accommodation tents in the Kayı camp style, workshop tents for cultural hobbies such as marbling, event tents for mass organizations such as conferences and cinevision, an adventure track for ethnosports such as horseback riding and archery, as well as extreme sports such as climbing, and a caravan area. .

Karataş Municipality was awarded in the category of DIVE TOURISM TO NEW LIVES UNDER WATER with its Artificial Reef Studies.

The Mayor of Karataş, who received the best tourism project award of the year in the Turkey-Europe Business World Awards, which was held for the second time at the Radisson Blu Istanbul Hotel with the participation of many distinguished guests from the world of art, politics, economy, sports and media, in the organization of BHS Group, and Adana Tourism Development and Infrastructure Service Union (ATGAB) President Necip TOPUZ, in his speech at the award night;
“Within the framework of our project, a new habitat was created under the water. We saw that very valuable fish species settled in the region where there was no trace of life before. Sea creatures are looking for a safe habitat for themselves. It has been determined that the fish have started to lay their eggs in the new habitat created. These developments give us hope for the future of our district, Karataş, the pearl of the Mediterranean.

Finally, by receiving this award on behalf of all Karataş people, I would like to thank everyone who contributed to this evaluation.” said.

TOURISM WEEK MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT NECIP TOPUZ

Expressing that tourism provides foreign exchange to the country, creates employment opportunities, and affects social and cultural life, Chairman of Adana Tourism Development and Infrastructure Service Association Chairman TOPUZ said in his message celebrating Tourism Week:

Tourism has gained a feature that combines important social and humanitarian functions that affect economic, social and cultural life with its new mission at the national and international level. This feature has increased the interest in tourism in the world; has encouraged countries with expectations from tourism to compete for the development of this sector. From agriculture to industry, from construction to technology, from health to transportation, tourism has a very strong bond with all sectors. The development of tourism means the development of other sectors along with it. Tourism, as an indispensable locomotive power, will maintain its importance in every period.

Also, the language of Tourism is universal, its message is peace, adventure, discovery and happiness. It is one of the greatest vehicles for the convergence of cultures and one of the most important sectors in the development of a region. Where tourism develops, tolerance, love and reconciliation also develop there. It should not be forgotten that tourism has no color, language, religion or race, it should always be remembered that it is a connecting and unifying bond.
