ZEYDAN KARALAR ERA HAS STARTED IN ADANA TOURISM UNION
After the Local Government elections on March 31, 2024, the first council meeting of the Adana Tourism Development and Infrastructure Service Union (ATGAB) was held on 10.06.2024 at the Adana Metropolitan Municipality Council Hall, with the participation of the Union Council members.
At the session, Adana Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Zeydan KARALAR was elected as Adana Tourism Union President.
ATGAB President KARALAR stated that Adana is one of the rare cities in the world that combines 6-7 features in terms of tourism and continued his words with the following expressions;
“The number of tourists in the world will increase to around 1 billion 800 million by 2030. As it is said, if every tourist left a thousand liras, the value of the total tourism pie in the world would be 1.8 trillion dollars. It is a negative situation that Turkey does not attach importance to such a great economic value and does not benefit from it sufficiently. I hope it won’t be like this from now on.
I don’t know if there is a more suitable city for rural tourism than Adana. It has one of the three most important plains in the world. They ask me, “Is there a sea in Adana?” Adana has long beaches. There is very healthy sand on these beaches. These are the beaches that Northern Europe is extremely interested in.
After the Black Sea and Marmara fish, the most delicious fish in the world come from the Mediterranean, on which we are located. We are rich in gastronomy. When you think of Adana, kebab comes to mind, but we have nearly 600 extraordinary flavors. We have the Orange Blossom Carnival. It makes a significant contribution to the promotion of Adana in Turkey and the world. We have the Taste Festival, Turnip and Kebab Festival.
In addition to these, there is also a date. It has a rich history of 8-10 thousand years. “We will continue to work devotedly with our union members to ensure that a city with so many features becomes a brand in tourism and gets the share it deserves from tourism.”
Thanking the ATGAB council members for their kindness, Zeydan KARALAR completed his speech by wishing that the new era would be beneficial for our Adana.
